An indepth discussion of Mac vs. Windows from a developers point of view
Here's the first part of a series of articles detailing one developer's experience with Mac OSX vs. Windows, with some good history behind it. My own digressive experience: I've developed some applications using MS Visual Studio back about 5 years ago or so, and found it to be a huge pain in the ass to do common things my employers were asking of me, leading me more in the direction of developing as much as possible in scripted languages, and naturally going command line as often as possible, since it's just so much easier to get data in, data out, and most importantly, data to other programs. For applications with a limited use where performance isn't a leading design factor.
His indepth article is very welcome to me, since it isn't from a Fanboi perspective, rather it is heavier on facts and history.
After reading this article it makes me want to download and install the developer tools mentioned and mess around with GUI's again in a compiled development environment, Cocoa and Qt.
