Overnight Shipping in Alaska

I learned some stuff recently about overnight shipping to/in Alaska.

First, from anywhere outside there is no such thing as overnight. Overnight is guaranteed to Anchorage. From there it is handed-off to USPS or some other courier and trickled out to destination villages. This can take weeks! There is one caveat to this.

Second (and the caveat), Goldstreak is the only way. Either from in or out of Alaska Goldstreak is the only thing I've found to do same day shipments. The downside is someone has to take the parcel to and pick it up from the Goldstreak office. If the city or town isn't served by Alaska Airlines, you're out of luck!

Third, real overnight (or asap) shipping to remote destinations of Alaska involves the coordination of multiple shippers. (EG: FedEx overnight to Anchorage, an agent picks it up and Goldstreaks to Town X, another agent picks it up and floatplane's it to Village Y.)
