Overview:
The clients PXE boot to the LTSP v5 server which auto-launches the Remote Desktop (rdesktop) client that auto-connects to a Windows 2003 terminal server. With the release this morning of Apple's new Mac Pro Quad-Core super beasty machine I thought I'd do a cost comparison. The bottom line is the Apple, for about the same hardware, costs only a little bit more ($6200 vs $5000). Is the extra $1200 worth it for the Apple OS and hardware? (I think so!)

This has been driving me crazy for a while. I'm a Mac user, running Parallels with Vista. When I RDP from Vista it's agonizingly slow. I figured it was because I was running Vista from an emulator, but nope!
