Synergy

For those of you with a laptop(s) on your desk as well as a desktop - this is for you!

http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

It apparently works with Windows, Linux, and OSX.  I've tested it with Linux, and it seems to work flawlessly so far.  I can simply have my keyboard and mouse control all the computers on my desk, without having to hit the KVM, which is pretty sweet!  And the clipboard works too, which is a total bonus.  The config is really simple.  Here's my server's config:

section: screens
    colinow:
    colinol:
end
section: links
    colinow:
        right = colinol
    colinol:
        left = colinow
end

And then running it is a piece of cake.  On the server just run "synergys --config synergy.conf".  On the client, just run "synergyc <serverhostname>".  I would add the -f switch to keep it in the foreground until you test that it works.

SWEET.

I'm using this share one kbd/mouse between my main Mac workstation, a Windows box, and my Mac laptop. Works real nifty!
