Latest Intel CPUs kill AMD

"After a year of domination by Core2, it seems more like business as usual" that Intel's latest CPUs smash AMD's even further. Not only are they easier to maintain (driver-wise), more compatible generally, but even more so outperform the competition: Intel Core 2 refreshed - QX6850 and E6750.

A Storage Device I Want that as far as I know doesn't exist. I want one box, with a bunch of bays, into which I can place any HDD I have lying around and have that drive contribute to the overall size/parity of an array.

Anyone know where I can get something like that?

I know Ubuntu can't quite hold a candle to Windows or Macintosh for the common user, but still it's a pretty momentous day: Dell selling PCs with Ubuntu Linux.

Clustering

Anyone here ever mess with clustering? I'm trying to come up with a good reason to do so.  It seems that there are a lot of technologies that come on LiveCD now and use Linux / FreeBSD to allow for distributed computing.  Things that come to mind:

- Rendering
- Music production
- Searching for aliens
