A recent convert into the wonderful world of Apple stuff, I gleefully bought the Marware Protection Pack for my 15" MacBook Pro out of over-indulgent peripheral-joy. I naively believed what it said on the package: "leaves no residue." After a week or so of having the pad stuck on the laptop I was fiddling with the corner of it and peeled it back a tad. I like using iTerm on the Mac (http://iterm.sourceforge.net) for SSH because it offers a number of improvements over the builtin terminal app. But one hassle is that the delete key (it's Delete on MacBooks, Backspace on Apple keyboards), when SSH'd into a Linux box, doesn't delete the character to the left but instead the character to the right. I bought one of the new Seagate Freeagent drives, a 500GB USB2 drive that could hold all of Obiwan.

I must say I'm disappointed in Apple's latest major OS update, OSX version 10.5 "Leopard". Perhaps I haven't caught the correct vibe, or learned all the tricks yet, but it just seems like I'm paying the cost of having to spend more time getting to my files in exchange for some pretty bells. Considering the 2+ years of development time, I have to admit I expected more from Leopard.

Alright, I'm putting the official word out. Because I love my HD-DVD player too much I am not getting a Blu-Ray player. However, I did pick up the LG dual format HD drive from my Vista machine, so if Blu-Ray is really taking over 3/4ths of the DVD titles like they say they are, supposedly I can rip them and still watch, correct?
