selling open source to management

Dells with Ubuntu
I know Ubuntu can't quite hold a candle to Windows or Macintosh for the common user, but still it's a pretty momentous day: Dell selling PCs with Ubuntu Linux.
Clustering
Anyone here ever mess with clustering? I'm trying to come up with a good reason to do so. It seems that there are a lot of technologies that come on LiveCD now and use Linux / FreeBSD to allow for distributed computing. Things that come to mind:

Beryl/Compiz on Kubuntu Feisty
As part of my fooling around with Linux, I recently upgraded my laptop to Kubuntu, the beta of 7.04 Feisty, with mixed experiences. I had problems even getting things to dist-upgrade, etc, which
